Male Rehabilitation Support Worker, EON269

Permanent / Part-time contract / Ulverston, Cumbria

Description

We are looking for a professional and friendly support worker to join us in supporting a young gentleman who has an acquired brain injury, supporting him in both his home and in the community. Duties will involve supporting the client in all aspects of daily life and in activities that are important to him. Hours will include day and evening shifts including weekends. You will be actively involved in working with a specialist multidisciplinary team to promote the client’s independence. An interest in exercise and a liking for dogs is desirable.

Experience of working with young people who have complex needs, learning difficulty and display challenging behaviour is essential

Flexible working up to 20 hours a week.

Pay will be £9 per hour for those who meet the minimum qualification/experience criteria

A Chance for Life Ltd is a progressive Brain Injury Case Management and Rehabilitation Company. We provide Support Work, Case Management and Occupational Therapy services to children and adults across the north of England and Scotland.

Duties

Duties will involve supporting the client in all aspects of daily life and in activities that are important to him. Hours will include both day and night shifts. You will work as part of a team of support staff and will be actively involved in working with a specialist multidisciplinary team to promote the client’s independence.

Key skills, knowledge and experience

You should be trained to NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or have equivalent experience e.g. completed year 1/level 4 of a recognised health profession degree course)

This post will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Check

Driving licence and a willingness to drive the client’s own vehicle is essential. Although the use of one’s own car isn’t required for the position, one’s own car is essential for reliability of accessing work.

Experience of working with young people who have complex needs, learning difficulties and display challenging behaviour is essential.

MAPA training, CPI training or equivalent is desirable.
