Description

We are recruiting a support companion to support one of our clients following his sight loss. The salary for the role is £15 per hour.

Are you what we are looking for? Here is a message from him:

“Hi, I am a happily married 77 year old gentleman, I recently lost my sight and now live in a small dark world.  I am looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour to support me in getting out and about; to brighten my life and bring new meaning and positivity to my days.   I need minimal support with some aspects of daily living. I know my home and do not need much support moving around it.  I find going out challenging and need more support when outside.

Prior to losing my sight I was an active outdoor man and used to enjoy salmon fishing, sailing and walking.

I enjoy a coffee and a lively discussion and I am looking for a male support worker to work in my home as part of a rota and flexibly. Someone who is local, savvy with technology such as laptop, Ipads and I phone, that can support me with basic household handyman tasks. Preferable but not essential”.

Previous experience of guiding individuals with sight loss, preferable but not essential as training will be given.

The salary for this role is £15 per hour.
