You will all be aware of the rapidly changing situation due to the COV-19 pandemic. This will undoubtedly have a major impact on all aspects of our lives for some time to come.
NEW CONTACT DETAILS FOR HEADWAY NORTH CUMBRIA
During these challenging times we would encourage our members to use their normal network of family and friends for the support and help that they might need. Headway North Cumbria will provide support and assistance when it can. To enable this we have established a single point of contact for anyone requiring advice or support from the branch. This will be in the form of a new Headway North Cumbria e-mail address and a new telephone contact number.
The new e-mail address is: headwaynorthcumbria@yahoo.com
This will become active this morning and you will be alerted by receiving an e-mail message from this new e-mail account. Please look out for it and check your spam folder if you don’t receive it to your Inbox. The message will be sent to all members that have provided us an e-mail address and given consent to have e-mails (i.e. the same distribution that this e-mail is being sent out on). Please add the new e-mail address to your contacts list.

The Headway North Cumbria Helpline number is 07508 111834
This will become active this morning and you will be alerted by receiving a text message from this number. The message will be sent to all members that have provided a mobile phone number and consented to receive text messages. Please add the helpline number to your contacts list.
Most of the members will receive both an e-mail and a text but some will get one or the other dependant on their stated preferences.
If you do not receive an e-mail or text that you were expecting, wish to change your contact preferences or contact details, or have any other questions then please let me know.
HEADWAY UK DIRECTS ALL BRANCHES TO STOP EVENTS AND MEETINGS FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE
You will hopefully be aware that on Monday 16 March 2020 the decision was taken to close the Day Centre and cancel all Headway North Cumbria planned activities until further notice. This was a timely decision since the very next day the Chief Executive of Headway UK directed that all Headway branches and groups should stop holding branch events or meetings for the foreseeable future.
The Chief Executive recognises that this will cause concern for many brain injury survivors and families who rely on Headway branches for support. However, the health and wellbeing of members and volunteers must remain the priority as we continue to follow Government advice.
In line with that advice, the Headway UK main office in Nottingham have been closed with staff instructed to work from home.
The Headway UK helpline will remain operational and can still be contacted on 0808 800 2244 or helpline@headway.org.uk .
